Looking at Life through the Lens of the Word of God
Joseph the dreaming favored son of Isreal took a very obscure journey through life unto his chosen destiny. Joseph was hated by his brethren, thrown into a pit, sold to Potiphar, lied upon and thrown into prison relatively soon after he was given dreams by God. The Bible declares that the Word of God tried Joseph. We can clearly see God’s hand in each phase of Joseph’s journey yet I wonder if Joseph could. The tapestry of life that weaves through joys, heartache, adversity and pain sometimes seems to have no apparent rhyme or reason. The Book of Job declares in Chapter 23: “Behold, I go forward, but he is not there; and backward, but I cannot perceive him: On the left hand, where he doth work, but I cannot behold him: he hideth himself on the right hand, that I cannot see him: But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.” Can we put our trust in the Living God who is Sovereign and able to work all things together for the good? Can we stand on His promises that will never fail? Numbers 23:19 “ God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?” I tell you with great confidence that Jesus will “Make it Good”. Be still and Know that He is God. David declared in Psalms 119:71”It is good for me that I have been afflicted that I might learn thy statutes.” Jesus know how to add what we need or give us grace to remove what we don’t. Through all the testing, trials, heartache and wrongs Joseph comes to this powerful statement in Genesis 50:20 “But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.” Be encouraged today, cast all your cares upon Jesus, for He cares for you!! Hebrews 10:36 For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.
